The built-in relay output can be used to alert administrators when the
network is down, when power failure occurs or when there is a change
in the DCD or DSR serial signals. An e-mail warning can also be issued
when an abnormality is detected. These functions are valuable tools
that enable maintenance engineers to react promptly to emergency
situations.
