Industrial control systems are more vulnerable to cyber attacks than ever

because PLCs, RTUs, sensors, SCADA systems, IP cameras, and the

communication backbone are becoming more interconnected. A security

consequences. Moxa’s industrial Gigabit-performance secure routers are

designed to protect the control networks of critical facilities while maintaining

Secure Remote Access and Critical Device Protection

As an all-in-one firewall/NAT/VPN/router, the EDR series creates encrypted VPN

tunnels between control rooms and remote sites. In addition, the built-in firewall/

NAT functions prevent unauthorized access or broadcast storms caused by

malfunctioning devices from damaging critical network devices, such as PLCs

and DCS.

PacketGard™ that allows the router to

perform deep Modbus TCP protocol

inspection. Users can easily create

a secure Ethernet Fieldbus network

Moxa's Solution

Large gas pipelines are highly volatile and cover long distances, so it’s

important to install secure remote systems that protect the pipelines from

cyber attacks. In the system illustrated above, the gas transfer stations

along the pipeline are equipped with gas analyzers and PLCs, and

communicate site data to a remote SCADA. Local security and remote

data authenticity are very important on this critical network link. Moxa’s

EDR-G903, a Gigabit performance industrial secure router, is used to

link transfer stations to the central SCADA via VPN secure tunnels. As a

firewall/NAT/VPN all-in-one router, the EDR-G903 shields devices on the

internal LAN from unauthorized access and maintains strongly secure

communications across public networks.

The EDR series security router is a firewall/NAT/VPN/router all-in-one solution, and is designed for sensitive remote control

or monitoring networks. It protects the integrity of remote access and critical devices. For greater integration to protect

devices, a router/switch all-in-one option is also available.
