Universal PCI Board Tutorial

Moxa’s Universal PCI Series meets the new slot

standard for expansion boards that is being rapidly

adopted by PC server manufacturers. In addition,

Moxa’s universal PCI boards work with both 3.3-

volt and 5-volt PCI slots, allowing the boards to

be used in virtually any PC available. We provide

2/4/8 independent RS-232/422/485 serial ports for

connecting data acquisition equipment and many

other serial devices to PCs.

Universal PCI

The somewhat old fashioned PCI bus standard

only supports a 32-bit bus and 5V connector

key. However, the trend of sharing maximum

bandwith, reducing power consumption, and

speeding up transmission speed has motivated
